4/21/2019 EASTER REFLECTION
[When Simon Peter arrived after him,
he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
and the cloth that had covered his head,
not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.
Then the other disciple also went in,
the one who had arrived at the tomb first,
and he saw and believed.] (Jn. 20:6-8)
The tomb is empty!!! The Apostles see it with their own eyes!
What a precious price paid for our lives on the cross? What wondrous power exhibited for our salvation from the tomb? How valued we are by our Almighty Father?
Saint Peter Chrysologus emphatically exclaims;
“O man, why do you think so little of yourself when God thinks so highly of you? Why dishonor yourself when God so honors you? Why be so concerned with the stuff from which you are made and so little with the purpose for which you are made?”
We are made to live with God forever. Today that is made possible. Jesus, the Son of God, has suffered, died, and risen from the dead! The tomb is empty!!!
Happy Easter!!!
