[ RESPONSORIAL PSALM

R. (8) The Lord of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
God is our refuge and our strength,
an ever-present help in distress.
Therefore we fear not, though the earth be shaken
and mountains plunge into the depths of the sea.
R. The Lord of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
There is a stream whose runlets gladden the city of God,
the holy dwelling of the Most High.
God is in its midst; it shall not be disturbed;
God will help it at the break of dawn.
R. The Lord of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
The LORD of hosts is with us;
our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
Come! behold the deeds of the LORD,
the astounding things he has wrought on earth.
R. The Lord of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob.] (Ps 46:2-3, 5-6, 8-9)

The psalm that the Church provides to us today seems only fitting for the situation we find ourselves in.  Though life as we know it is crumbling around us, one thing/one Person remains.  Regardless of what happens, He is always here.   He is our stronghold.  He is our God.

As we make our way toward Easter, remember He is the center of our joy.  Fix your eyes on Him.  During the remainder of the season of Lent continue to prepare your heart for the celebration of His resurrection.  It is because of His passion, death and resurrection that we have hope at all.  Because He still lives, He is our stronghold.  He is our God.

Take some time today to slow down and refocus your attention on Him.  God is the only one Who can save us, spiritually and physically.  Tomorrow, I strongly urge you to heed the plea of Pope Francis to pray the “Our Father” at 12:00pm Central Time.  Pope Francis has asked that ALL Christians pray together the “Our Father” to ask for God’s help in our times.

The Lord of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
