President’s Message August 20 2021

Dear Assumption Catholic Schools,

Welcome back to school for the 2021-22 school year.  We are excited to see all the students, returning and new, back in the buildings next Wednesday.

Summer has been a busy time at school and we look forward to showing off the updates that have been done.  A few highlights.,

OLQH – completed the switch to SuperKids reading program for grades K-2 and installed a new back door. Staff changes – Shelley Bruley (principal), Elizabeth Matticks (PE/Library) and Haley Breidel (Interventionist)

SVDP – asbestos removal and new flooring in 7 classrooms, choir risers, cafeteria tables (backordered), new trade paperback reading series for grades 4-5 and expanded Catechesis of the Good Shepard to grade 3.. Staff changes Haley Breidel (interventionist) and Danielle Fuehrer (administrative assistant)

ACMS/HS  asbestos removal and new flooring in 7 classrooms, HS office remodel, chapel renovation, sound system, painted the doors and hallways, tables and computers in 3rd floor computer lab. New staff or changed assignments Nicholas Balabuszko (choir), Hans Peter Kohlhoff (German), Anne Zacher (Spanish, Colton Schenk (English), Jennifer Noyes (science)), Emma Voelker (science), Adam Olson (art), Joe Diedrich (English/science), Greg Kaster (religion/social studies), Andrea Pecher (food service), Yvonne Audi (dean of students), Jimmy Lynch (principal), Jenna Lynch (campus ministry), Paul Klinkhammer (physics) and Nicole Leberg (academic support center)

For the 2021-22 school year, we are expanding our partnership with Virtue=Strength (formally know as Sportsleader) to bring additional materials in virtue education and Catholic identity to the K-12 program.  In my blogs and weekly messages I will be sharing the Virtue=Strength parent newsletter with you and the schools will be sharing what is going on in the classroom.
