President’s Virtue Message January 6 2023

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Our celebration of the birth of Jesus continues.  Today is the Feast of the Epiphany, to be followed by the baptism of our Lord.  Depending on which liturgical calendar the Christmastide can last until February 2nd – Candlemas –

Moving into 2023 we celebrate the life of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. He had a long vocation of service to our Church and we pray that he rest in peace and be united with God in heaven.

The virtue for January is PRUDENCE – To think before you act.  Many problems could be avoided if we would practice this virtue.,  For more examples please check out the slide deck on prudence. Prudence 2022-2023 MINI PDF

We are busy preparing for the end of hex 3 , the mid point of the school year.  At the end of January is Catholic Schools Week.  We celebrate all the good that is Assumption Catholic Schools.  Thanks to the efforts of Assumption Chaplain, Father Weller, I am excited to announce that our Bishop, William Callahan will be coming to Wisconsin Rapids on Friday, February 3 to celebrate our all system Mass for Catholic Schools Week.. We have moved the Mass to SS Peter and Paul Church so that extra guests can attend.  It has been over 6 years since Bishop visited Assumption Catholic Schools and we are looking forward to his presence that day.  By moving the Mass to SSPP, it is possible to accommodate parents and other guests for Mass if you wish to attend.

In Christ’s Peace

Daniel Minter
