President’s Virtue Blog April 28 2023
Dear Assumption Catholic Schools
Happy Easter – Yes we are still in the Easter season. Our joy at the resurrection of the Lord is great. The Lord has done great things for us. Next week we move into the month of May – a month dedicated to Mary our Mother in heaven. Mary, Mother of God Pray for us.
This week the strength is magnanimity. having greatness of soul performing noble deeds that are great in the eyes of God.. The prayers and videos can be viewed here. Magnanimity-2022-2023-MINI-PDF
Each and every one of us are called by Almighty God to be holy. We are called to be saints. To reach such sublime heights, one can say that we are called to be great.
This greatness is what is referred to as the virtue of Magnanimity – which translates to ‘greatness of soul’. It cannot exist without humility as its guiding rod.
The opposing weakness is pusillanimity – running away from the good you should do.
In Christ’s Peace
