President’s Virtue Message May 5 2023
Dear Assumption Catholic Schools,
We move into the month of May. In the Church a month dedicated to the Mother of Jesus- Mary – a strong intercessor for us in heaven with her Son.
Today is also the first Friday. Can you spend a few minutes in prayer with our Lord?

The virtue of Temperance, or Moderation, is the strength that moderates the attraction of pleasures and provides balance in the use of created goods.
From The Catechism of the Catholic Church #1809
Temperance … ensures the will’s mastery over instincts and keeps desires within the limits of what is honorable.
The opposing vice is intemperance. The weakness to not moderate nor restrain the attraction of pleasures and is not balanced in the use of created goods.
