President’s Friday Message

Happy Fall Assumption Catholic Schools

Amazing that 1 month of the 2023-24 school year has gone by.  Fall is a season of change and we again see the beauty of God’s creation all around us.  The natural world prepares for Winter.  Can you take a few moments to thank God for all that He blesses us with?

The strength this week is reliance. Counting on someone else to help you. Reliance-2023-Mini-PDF

Talk to God and tell Him all your fears, disappointments, anxieties, desires, dreams, frustrations, and sins. Prayer is not just giving God a laundry list of what’s wrong. Listen to His response. Ask God to help you rely on and trust Him and not doubt. Ask Him to help you with your unbelief (Mark 9:23-25). Give everyone and everything to God. “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7). Get to know God’s attributes. He is kind, loving, and merciful – not cruel, hateful, or merciless.

The opposing weakness is betrayal.  to violate a person’s trust or confidence.

The most well-known betrayal in the Bible is that of Judas and his betrayal of Jesus.  Adam and Eve also betrayed God when they fell to the temptation of the serpent and ate of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge.

When we feel betrayed, we can either choose to forgive and let go or hold a grudge and seek revenge. Our Lord and our Catholic Faith teach us to forgive but this can be very difficult and we often need help from those we can rely on.

In Christ’s Peace
