Virtue=Strength August 23 2024
In this month dedicated to Mary. the Queen of Heaven and our Mother, let us take a moment of prayer and reflection on the truth, beuaty and goodness of God’s creation.. Mary is the Queen of Heaven because in Jewish tradition the mother of the king was the queen. Mary is the patroness of Assumption Catholic Schools and we can always ask for her intercession for our needs.
The strength of the week is dedication – to be firm in one’s purpose and direction. It is commitment and effort in pursuing goals, tasks, or beliefs with erseverance and faith.

BIBLE QUOTES
• Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it
with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not
for human masters.”
• 1 Corinthians 15:58: “Therefore, my dear
brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing
move you. Always give yourselves fully to the
work of the Lord, because you know that your
labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
From the Baltimore Catechism thew question of why did God create me? the answer is to know Him, to love Him and to serve Him in this life and to be with Him in the next.
The weakness is apathy – lacking interest in one’s purpose or direction.
Some examples of apathy
• Showing little enthusiasm for prayer, Mass, sacraments, or religious education.
• Putting minimal effort into schoolwork or assignments.
• Showing little concern for the well-being or feelings of others.
• Lack of Goals: Having no clear goals or ambitions for personal growth.
• Passivity: Accepting situations without attempting to change or improve them.
