September Virtue

Posted on Sep 2, 2022 by

Greetings Assumption Catholic Schools,

We have arrived at September.  I had the opportunity this week to attend Mass and celebrate with all of the K-12 schools the central action of our lives as Catholics.  I would like to thank the students and staff for providing a well planned and reverent celebration of the Eucharist.  I look forward to worshiping with you each week.

Today is the first Friday.  I encourage you, if possible to stop by a Church and spend a few moments in prayer with our Lord..  The gift of Jesus for our salvation and our belief that He is present Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in our lives is something to be thankful for and to celebrate.

For the month of September, our virtue is faith – the gift provided by God that enables us to believe with conviction what the Church teaches.

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God,
the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
He descended into hell;
on the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Amen.

As we mark the unofficial end of summer, may God protect each of you, may your lives be holy and may we continue to be blessed by God for our faith.
