President’s Virtue Message January 5, 2024
Greetings Assumption Catholic Schools,
As we near the end of the Christmas Season, I hope that you have grown closer to God and the truth, beauty, and goodness of His creation and His love for us.
The virtue for January is prudence. To think before you act. Prudence guides us, helps us to make good decisions, and to choose good over evil.
“Prudence is love … making wise distinction between what hinders and what helps itself.”
– St. Augustine
The vice is imprudence – acting without thinking.
This weekend is the Feast of the Epiphany. We welcome the visit of the magi from the East to the infant Jesus, where they acknowledged Him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
In Christ’s Peace
Daniel Minter
